Job Description

Multimedia Production Coordinator

Location: Remote, Maryland 

Time: Part-Time, 20 hours per week

Role Overview:
Under the supervision of the Communications Director, the Multimedia Production Coordinator will focus on creating dynamic video and audio content for Progressive Maryland’s digital platforms. This position embodies creativity and technical prowess, which are crucial for conveying our mission and campaigns to a broader audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to produce engaging videos for our issue campaigns and digital promotions.
  • Attend Progressive Maryland events to capture video content that reflects our organizational ethos and activities.
  • Livestream public virtual and in-person events to platforms like Facebook, enhancing live engagement with our community.
  • Host and produce short livestream events featuring guest speakers on platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
  • Support audio content creation, including podcasts and audio clips, aligned with our campaigns and initiatives.
  • Engage in direct voter contact at the doors, over the phone, and at events as needed, especially during election years, with other staff members 
  • Any other digital content creation that comes up as necessary under the direction of the Communications Director

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to capture, edit, and produce short video content using platforms like CapCut, Canva or other video editing software.
  • Experience with livestreaming tools and techniques, particularly through Zoom and social media platforms.
  • Experience with vertical short-form video content for platforms such as TikTok.
  • Basic knowledge of audio editing for podcast creation and other audio content.
  • Strong capability to meet deadlines under pressure while managing multiple content projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges faced by our communities and a passion for addressing these issues.

Pluses (but not required):

  • Experience in digital advertisement video production.
  • Familiarity with Maryland's political landscape.
  • Interest in electoral campaign work and digital community organizing.

Travel and Position Details:
Reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license, laptop, phone, and willingness to travel throughout Maryland as needed are required. The position will necessitate attendance at Progressive Maryland events to livestream, conduct interviews and capture video content.

Compensation:
Compensation for this part-time role is within the range of $25,500-32,500 as based on experience.
